About the Role:

We are seeking a Customs Broker Manager to lead our import brokerage team and ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, expert-level knowledge of customs procedures, and hands-on experience managing a team of entry writers and customs staff. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex import shipments and will serve as the licensed customs broker for the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of Entry Writers and Import Specialists

  • Review and approve customs entries for accuracy and compliance with U.S. Customs, PGA (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.), and OGA regulations

  • Ensure accurate HTS classification and valuation of imported goods

  • Monitor KPIs, workflow, and timelines to maintain service excellence and regulatory compliance

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other government agencies

  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to the brokerage team

  • Stay current on customs laws, tariffs, trade agreements, and industry updates

  • Handle post-entry corrections, protests, and audits

  • Coordinate with clients, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure timely clearance

  • Maintain and enforce recordkeeping procedures in accordance with CBP guidelines


Qualifications:

  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (required)

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience

  • Strong working knowledge of import regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and PGA processes

  • Proficiency with Customs brokerage systems (e.g., Cargowise, Descartes, or similar)

  • Experience handling FDA, USDA, and other regulated entries

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field

  • Experience with OGA audits or CBP compliance audits

  • Knowledge of ACE and ABI systems

  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish/ English)
