We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Entry Writer with expertise in Customs House Brokerage (CHB) to join our team. The Entry Writer will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate and timely import and export customs entries, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in customs documentation, tariff classification, and CHB procedures.

 

Location: Hawthorne, CA

Pay Range: $25-27/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process accurate customs entries for imports and exports in compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.

  • Ensure all required documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) is collected and submitted to customs authorities.

  • Communicate with clients, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve any customs-related issues.

  • Review and verify tariff classifications to ensure proper duties and taxes are applied.

  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of goods.

  • Monitor shipment status to identify potential delays and work with stakeholders to resolve any issues.

  • Stay updated on changes to customs regulations, tariff schedules, and international trade laws.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth flow of information and compliance with company policies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience as an Entry Writer or in a similar role within a customs brokerage environment.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with customs software and systems (e.g., CargoWise and other industry-specific tools).

  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, tariff classification, and international trade compliance.

  • Certifications: Customs Broker License preferred, but not required.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with clients and external authorities professionally
