Senior Entry Writer (Food Import/Customs Brokerage)

Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $60,000–$68,000 annually
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Entry Writer to join our Customs Brokerage team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in U.S. Customs entry processing, experience handling food imports, and expertise working with FDA-regulated shipments. This role requires proficiency with netCHB, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to ensure shipments are cleared accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all U.S. Customs and FDA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and transmit customs entries using netCHB.
- Process and clear food import shipments in compliance with U.S. Customs and FDA regulations.
- Coordinate FDA entries and resolve FDA holds, examinations, and documentation requests.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other import documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Classify merchandise using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and ensure proper duty assessment.
- Communicate with importers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs officials, and government agencies to facilitate timely cargo release.
- Monitor shipment status, proactively resolve clearance issues, and prevent delays.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure compliance with all customs and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of U.S. Customs Entry Writing experience.
- Experience clearing food import shipments and working directly with FDA-regulated imports is required.
- Hands-on experience coordinating FDA filings and resolving FDA-related clearance issues.
- Proficiency with netCHB.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, FDA import requirements, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Tagalog or Mandarin language skills are preferred, but not required.
