Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented QuickBooks Accounting Specialist to support a small automotive business in Diamond Springs, CA. This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, performing financial clean-up, and ensuring accurate and organized financial records.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with QuickBooks, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities. This is a short-term assignment requiring someone who can work independently and step into an existing system with minimal training.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Review and clean up existing financial records and discrepancies
• Organize and maintain the chart of accounts
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Analyze financial data and identify inconsistencies
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Ensure all financial data is accurate and up to date
• Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding financial information

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)
• Experience with account reconciliations and financial record clean-up
• Working knowledge of general ledger and journal entries
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities

Preferred:

• Experience in a small business or service-based environment
• Background in automotive or similar industry
• Prior experience handling backlogged or catch-up accounting work
