Role: Ranger - Sly Park/Pollock Pines

Pay rate: $17.00/ hr

Location: Sly Valley, CA

Talmo & Associates is now hiring multiple roles for a Parks and Recreation seasonal opportunity. A Park Ranger patrols park grounds and facilities. Observes, recognizes, and reports disruptive activities. Educates park visitors on park rules, assigns campsites to visitors, and responds to emergencies and incidents. Creates and maintains daily activities log. Other related duties as necessary.

 

 

Essential role for our campgrounds management as described below:

Interpret and communicate district policies and recreation rules and regulations

Interact courteously with the public and district personnel

Knowledge and proper use of radio etiquette

Provide accurate logs of daily activities

Ability to identify and report combative or disruptive situations

Take direction from district personnel and manage time effectively

Must be able to safely drive assigned district vehicle

Use good judgment, especially during emergency situations

Must be able to prepare written reports

Remove obvious/excessively concentrated litter

 

EXPERIENCE, LICENSES,AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

A minimum of 1-year Customer Service experience required

Must possess a valid CALIFORNIA Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record

Parks law or enforcement background preferred

Possession of a CPR/ First Aid card is desirable

Fluent English is required including spelling, grammar, and punctuation

Ability to read and interpret park rules and regulations

Ability to answer a wide variety of questions from park visitors and district staff

Ability to communicate verbally and in written format

Must pass a drug screen, background check and driver's license report will be run

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must possess physical characteristics to perform the essential functions of the job

Duties may require maintaining a physical condition necessary to sitting, standing, climbing, in and out of vehicles, or walking for prolonged periods of time, carrying less than 40 pounds

WORK HOURS: Work will be seasonal on a full-time basis; days and hours will vary with weekends and holidays required

Field environment; may be exposed to inclement weather conditions
