Import Coordinator
Location: Wood Dale, IL
Pay: $22–$23/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

The Import Coordinator supports import shipments from arrival through final delivery, ensuring accurate documentation, timely customs clearance, and strong customer service. This role handles shipment coordination, data entry, billing, vendor communication, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate import shipments with customers, vendors, trucking companies, and warehouses

• Prepare and submit data to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other agencies (e.g., FDA)

• Review and process import documentation for accuracy and compliance

• Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers

• Arrange trucking, drayage, and warehouse receiving

• Approve vendor invoices and submit for payment

• Generate customer invoices and arrange terminal payments (PierPass, CargoSprint, PayCargo)

• Maintain accurate shipment records and files

• Resolve shipment issues to ensure timely clearance and delivery

• Ensure all work meets deadlines and compliance requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in import logistics and/or customs brokerage preferred

• Knowledge of U.S. Customs procedures and import documentation

• Strong organizational, data entry, and time management skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Tradepoint experience is a plus
