Role: Air Import Agent

Salary range: $21-$23/hour

Job type: Full-Time, in office

Location: Torrance, CA

We are hiring for a Freight Forwarder, Air Import GTW ito ensure the timely and efficient importation of goods by air, by coordinating with vendors such as airlines, customs agents and trucking companies.. 

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee import shipments daily.

• Run pre-arrival reports from forwarding application grid to capture all shipments consigned to the Gateways and process files.

• Receive and verify pre-alerts and check E-doc for documents.

• Request arrival information from air carrier and update the gateway comments.

• Track and trace the consol.

• Coordinate with the line haul truck the timely recovery of freight at the airport (airport transfer) Monday to Sunday.

• Check received documents against manifest and pick-up log sheet

• Verify the accuracy of AMS information against the manifest and work with airlines/handling agents if there is discrepancy.

• Set up automatic Warehouse transfer 1F or Request 1F (AMS).

• Flag in transit or hinterland shipment and notify the in transit gateway.

• Provides manifest and PPT (permit to transfer) to CFS on daily basis.

• Arrange payments of ISC (Import Service Charge) with CargoSprint, Paycargo, and E-pic etc.

• Record incidents using forwarding application in comments as delays, damages, etc.

• Handle preliminary claim.

• Ensure proper completion of all accounting procedures and Job costing.

• Other duties as requested.

Experience:

• Excellent knowledge of freight forwarding and regulatory requirements with proven track record with a minimum of two years of industry experience (Import)

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

• Good judgment skills and ability to make decisions.

• Bilingual English and another language is a plus

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software and systems
