JOB DESCRIPTION: BRANCH MANAGER

 

Pay: will depend on experience + full benefits.

Location: Redondo Beach, CA

COMPANY PROFILE: Global logistics company with a worldwide network across six continents. Providing international trade and Logistics services through air /ocean freight consolidation and forwarding, vendor consolidation, distribution, and other value-added logistics services.

 

JOB SUMMARY:  The Branch Manager manages the P&L and operational & sales teams of the branch, and implements the business strategy in line with corporate requirements while complying with legal, financial, and commercial local and corporate rules.

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

⦁ 5 years or more of management experience in Int’l freight forwarding (Sea and airfreight business)

• Must have international, multi-modal freight forwarding experience

• Thorough understanding of Import and export procedures

• Effective sales and presentation skills.

• Experience in budget planning, establishing, and writing business proposals.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in business development & Account Mgt. for key clients and prospects.
  • Define and implement a strategy for the branch; set targets and execute the action plan.

 

COST MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor and analyze the business results and the organization, set targets, and take appropriate actions to achieve the targeted performance.
  • Prepare the budget for the branch. Take appropriate measures to optimize general expenses, and adjust the structure to the volume of activity.
  • Ensure credit Mgt., check clients’ balances, and take appropriate actions.

OPERATIONS EFFICIENCY

  • Guarantee that SOP’s and operational processes are implemented.
  • Monitoring of KPIs etc.

STAFF MANAGEMENT

  • Manage the Operations teams – Hire and/or retain staff and ensure that they align with the Company’s values of Professionalism, skill level, and Integrity.
  • Develop the team (sales and operations) and optimize their performance to high standards.
  • Conduct a monthly activity review with the managers.
  • Set annual objectives for the team and conduct their annual evaluation.
  • Conduct the annual salary review for the teams.
