Talmo & Associates is assisting a local medical clinic hiring qualified Medical Assistants.

Location: Folsom, CA

Pay rate: $22/hour

Job Type: Full time, temp to hire

Schedule: M-F 8am- 5pm

Responsibilities:

-Responsible for assisting doctors/providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks

-Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services

-Checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, etc.; collecting patient history; assisting providers/nurses; charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls and providing pertinent information

-Sending/receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing the charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately

-Electronically send prescriptions in the EHR (Electronic Health Record) to pharmacies

-Cleaning exam rooms between patient visits to maintain infection control, ordering, sorting, storing supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms

-Respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly

-Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements and HIPAA

-Professional demeanor and upholds image of the clinic

Qualifications:

-Previous medical assistant experience preferred, will consider new graduate from medical assisting program

-Must be able to work in a fast paced environment which may include standing, walking, and physical assistance for patients

-Strong verbal and written skills; fluent in English

-Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and patient safety measures

-Must be adaptable and work with accuracy

-Strong computer skills, data entry and typing; capable of basic mathematical calculations

-Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) computerized practice management and other record keeping systems

-High school diploma or equivalent, and graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

-Background check and drug screen
