We are hiring for an experienced Legal Secretary for a prominent Law Firm in the Placerville area.

Job Title: Legal Secretary

Location: Placerville, CA

Job Type: Full-Time, in office, Mon-Fri

Pay rate: $29/hour

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support in the primary areas of litigation and transactional matters for

assigned attorneys.

• Preparing, formatting and proofreading various legal documents and filings,

including contracts, complaints, answers, discovery, estate planning materials, investigation

summaries and other documents.

• Filing legal documents with the courts and facilitating document recording.

• Draft standard correspondence, memoranda, and other documents.

• Establish and maintain calendar and deadline system; utilize master calendar system.

• Data entry, transcription, and setting up client files following firm conflict check system, including

file management in accordance with established procedures.

• Prepare for trial and depositions, including scheduling and document management.

• Managing and preparing mail for attorneys, with some phone assistance as needed.

• Returning client phone calls, at direction of attorney.

• Scheduling appointments and travel arrangements for attorneys, as needed.

• Facilitate preparation, set up, and clean up for attorney/client meetings, workshops, consortiums,

and office meetings.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills: Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook/Google Suite.

• Minimum of  3 years of law firm experience 

• Knowledge of courts, e-filing, calendaring, recording, and billing systems

• Ability to work independently and multitask while demonstrating strong attention to detail

• Ability to work with several attorneys simultaneously

• Must be organized, detail oriented and a positive team player

• Professional writing, proofreading, technical and administrative skills
