Global Logistics Services company offering sophisticated logistics solutions is seeking a Freight Traffic Controller/ Operations Assistant. This is an excellent position for someone with freight experience looking to get into a challenging trans-loading operations role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: starting at $19/hr

Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:30am-5:00pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Handle daily assignments as determined by team leader

·       May require to work independently or as part of a team

·       Assist with the receiving of over 300 containers per month and dispatch over 70 trailers per month

·       Release documents and all freight to truckers and oversee delivery to final destination

·       Verify the information on the delivery orders / Truck bill and the cargo such as Container # , dimension, delivery address

·       Inspect containers and trailers at time of unloading and loading

·       Coordinate with a forklift operator and advise for bland length, center of gravity, weight, and space

·       Spot forklift operators at all times, monitor speed, escort and advise forklift operator while cargo is moving

·       Notify management of any discrepancy (shock watch, tilt watch activation, damage and mold)

·       Taking pictures of trailers, containers, and cargo, and unloading

·       Input container and trailer data to data sheets (Excel) and download pictures

*Must have 3+ years of experience in traffic control

*Must be detail-oriented and thorough

*Must be analytical and a good communicator

*Good with computers, data entry, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
